Yay! We opened the lovely social pages to see our favourite IT girl Pearl Going featured yet again. This time it was with fellow blondie and we think PR maven Nicky Clarke. Pretty girls in pretty dresses were the order of the evening.

Here is our gorgeous IT girl out and about over the weekend with BFF Sarah Riley at one of Adam B's uber cool parties.

WHO IS PEARL GOING?

Pearly Shells

So here's what we have managed to do our research on so far over the weekend. We were very brave and made some calls to her home town ~

Full Name: Sian-Pearl Going

Age: 23

Who's the daddy? Pearl's mother is a renowned massage and healing therapist and her father was born with the silver spoon, apparently a bit of a bad playboy party animal but also a entrepreneurial businessman. (more on this later when we have done some more research)

Where's the money? Family money. Grandfather W.E Going is a self made multi millionaire and Pearl's Grandmother was already old money. They have large investments in property, hotels and art.The family's main residence is on the Tutukaka Coast. W.E Going we are told by the very helpful folk at the Whangarei Deep Sea Fishing Club (WDSFC) developed and built the coastal hot spot.

Interesting fabulousness:

~Reign as New Zealands's new It-girl, now gets the sympathy vote for having been the subject of so much bitching.

~The family are jet setters (which would explain Pearl's penchant for getting around) and apparently spend many months of the year abroad in exotic places like India, Africa, Maldives, Croatia and the rest of Europe. We were told by a Tutukaka source that the Grandparents had left for a month in Japan a couple of weeks ago.

~One of their homes has a garden of national significance according to the nz garden trust. Other notable places with the same recognition include Lanarch Castle.

~They keep big game fishing boats which we are told by a source from WDSFC would cost a few million each to replace.

~Both Pearl and her grandfather are avid aviation enthusiasts who fly light aircraft.

~ Pearl is an accomplished horse rider and polo follower

~ They are a notable and famous All Black family (Sid Going). Although Pearl apparently doesn't follow the sport.

~ The family is said to be unaffected by it's money, hugely down to earth and lovely. We were told by people who know them they are they kind of people that will pull over and change your tyre for you nothings ever too much of a problem.

Here's some cute facts ~ We are told that every time Pearl is featured in the paper word gets around and everyone rushes to the local store meaning papers sell out pretty quickly and word gets around fast so a lot of the time there are no papers by the time her family come to buy one. The store owner told us when we rang that her Dad came in to buy his daily paper a couple of Sunday's ago looked at the empty bin and asked "Is Pearly Shells in the paper again?" (aw how cute is that 'Pearly Shells'?). The owner was also miffed and asked us to explain what a socialite was. He told us that Pearl often pops in and says Hi when she is back home and you can catch her on the rods playing marlin and diving during summer then catching up with the locals over a raspberry lemonade (apparently her drink of choice?). Apparently when one of her very wealthy boyfriends visited with her she insisted he do the same which made him look a little uncomfortable according to the store man any hows (WE WONDER WHO THAT WAS?). Also of interest was that he let it drop Pearl was pretty good on a surf board and a bit of a pool shark often spotted playing with her Dad, Grandfather and Brother at the game club. Could our favourite IT girl be a bit of a closet tom boy? We wonder.

AUSTRALIA SOCIETY BLOGGERS

Wow turns out even bloggers in Australia follow our beautiful socialite Pearl Going. Who is apparently in regular attendance at their Australia Fashion Week and turned out in full force to show support for Kirrily Johnston (an Aussie) at NZ Fashion Week. according to a brief article in The Australian.

Blogger Greg Tingle behind Community Media a blog dedicated to following charity, philanthropy and social entrepreneurs also posts about our Pearl as well.

The blog that includes content covering Australian A listers Megan Gale, Peter Morrisey and Jackie O alongside our socialite Pearl Going amongst others.

It’s all about persuasion: getting the media to run your story (if you are a PR person); getting people to believe your story (if you are Winston Peters); getting people to remove a story (if you are Pearl Going fighting a blogger); or getting people to turn against the other guy (if you are running for President of the United States.) Getting good service in Australia (and the perfect job) also feature along with a collection of “Manglish” examples and some strange folk stories. Read on.

Responding on the Internet
Media law specialist Stephen Price raises an interesting question in a recent posting. As we all access websites through an ISP, one of his students argued: “if ISPs are sending us material that is defamatory, or in contempt of court, or breaches confidentiality or privacy or a suppression order… aren’t they liable for it?” Under current New Zealand law Price thinks that could well be the case.“If the Solicitor-General writes to all the New Zealand ISPs and says: “X blog contains material that is prejudicial to upcoming trial Y. You are not hosting X blog, but you are allowing your users to access it when they type in X blog’s URL. If you continue to allow such access, you may be prosecuted for contempt of court”. I can’t see that that the ISP has any choice but to block the material. China manages it, so it must be technically possible.”Blogger David Farrar takes a different view and cites the example of Pearl Going, a sometime model and would be Auckland socialite, who was upset about web postings questioning her background (There is a whole saga about this if you are interested – click below). She requested the removal of some material, which was declined. She then got a lawyer who repeated the request and when that was also declined, the lawyer wrote to the ISP hosting the site, and the ISP pulled the material. However, within hours the material complained about was up on a new site, www.pearlgoingisafake.com. And the matter gained considerably more prominence than it had as just a few posts on a site not much accessed. What this proves, says Farrar, is that attacking posts on legal grounds or putting the heavy hand on the ISP is not the way to go. “The Pearl Going case is a great example of what not to do,” he said. “Comment and respond and do so openly, not anonymously. That’s a much better approacch"


So just before the Pearl Going website was pulled down by Police this news article was posted. Obviously the author doesn't check his facts correctly although Pearl Going is absolutely gorgeous we have been told by reliable sources that she has never been a model. Infact when she has been approached by agents we are told she firmly turns them down. Ain't it daft what some people will assume? Oh she is a stunning girl must be a model?. As for the comments about what not to do? Do we live in a society where we should put up with lies been told about ourselves and our family? Pearl Going stood up for something. She stood up for her right as an individual to object to defamatory comment about herself. Should she apologise for having the money to go hire a lawyer (Steven Price none the less the top Internet Lawyer in the country and top professor at Victoria Law School). As the article states she asked reasonably time and time again for the material to be removed. If you have the resources to fight an injustice why would you not? Possibly this should not be a lesson for her on what not to do. Possibly this should be a lesson for the blogger that then after been forced to remove the defamatory material went sour and bought an off shore site to host it. A silly move that got police involved into two countries and will now result in serious consequences. The lesson is more along the lines of watch what beef you pick with a girl who's family touts serious money. Because as Olivia Palmero a New York socialite said best "I may be a young girl," she told another socialite, "but behind every young girl is a powerful father."

EMMALENE THINKS SHE'S CLASSIER THAN PEARL?

So this morning our first photo was sent in but it wasn't of the beautiful Pearl Going, It was of Emmalene Miller. It came with a note -

"Emmalene thinks she is better, classier and more beautiful than Pearl Going? Sure she is. Here is the photo to prove it. Maybe she subscribes to 'How to stay classy - Things I learn't from Ron Burgundy' So classy."

We know it's naughty to post it and we will try from now on to keep posts about Pearl but really?

Can you blame us? It was too good to do nothing with it.

PEARL GOING XMAS

Hoorah! We received a tip off via a comment that lead us to photos of our IT girl Pearl Going getting her xmas party groove Mr Cool man about town Adam Bennett the owner of Highlife Entertainment (who host the most amazing parties around town including the Waiheke NY's) xmas party for his close friends at none other than his house. With Steve White man about town and owner of Stoneyridge Vineyard New Zealand's most exclusive on Waiheke Island and Melanie Smith who we presume to be a gal pal of Miss Going's most known for the GOOD WATER Project amazing environmental water (so it would make sense they are pals). Granted the photos are from last December but Pearl looks blonde and ultra cute. Enjoy!

PLOT THICKENS

Well the plot has thickened blog posts alleged today that a girl called Emmalene Miller was a driving force behind the vicious attacks and nasty rumours about beautiful socialite Pearl Going. Emmalene an unknown former beauty queen who allegedly lost out on Miss NZ twice (you would think once would be embarassing enough) apparently has a huge chip on her shoulders when it comes to Miss Going. It took us awhile to actually find a photo of the former beauty queen hailing from West Auckland but we managed it. Here at PGFS we don't condone name calling and nasty behaviour so we will let the picture speak for itself. Pearl Going ~ who's style is often described as park avenue princess, demure, chic, expensive and classy VS Emmalene Miller ~ Well like they say a picture really is worth a thousand words. The green behaviour is understandable. Nuff said!

This is one amazing jacket we want! we want! Amy spotted this in Lucie Boshier last week we had a drool because with the close to $800 price tag we can only dream of owning. Then a picture of the uber stylish Pearl Going shows up her wearing the object of our desire snapped during Air New Zealand Fashion Week go figure.

Pearl Going was at Lucie Boshier's pre Fashion Week Champagne Soiree with rumoured BFF (according to Sarah Riley's facebook) amazing shoe designer Sarah Riley. The two blondes look stunning and apparently also live together. Sarah Riley shoes are our fave but a bit exspensive for us :(

Here is a snap we fished out from the A list of Pearl Going (although looking a little tired) and one of her besties gal about town Anna Jobsz they are often spotted hanging and holidaying overseas. Poor Anna also became a target of these nasty people during the saga. We think she is beautiful and miss her on the news. Snapped at the girls great friend and multi millionaire playboy turned enviromentalist Seeby Woodhouse's Green Carbon business launch earlier in the year. Alot of things are said about Seeby but we think he is a totally cool guy and kinda cute.

Our favourite socialite Pearl Going won Best Dressed at the Karaka Million in January. We tracked this down after reading a blog post about her. The guy in the picture she is posing with is unknown to us but won Best Dressed Male.

Although not the best photo of PearlGoing we love her looking colorful and partying with Lucie Boshier at Titchmo in the City. Going and Boshier are apparently great gal pals and Pearl is wearing one of the beautiful Lucies creations in the snap.

We loved this snap of Miss Going taken at the VIP Coach lanch at DFS Galleria by the wonderful Norrie who is apparently the only social photographer Pearl Going will let snap her. She apparently loves him to bits my sister tells me so of course we in turn love him as well. Pearl drew alot of criticism for her oufit online no doubt from people lacking fashion education. A month after this photo was snapped our glossies down here were full of black and white style tips, announcing little white dresses with leather jackets du jour, pearls are always classy and that little hat is ulta cute. WELL DONE!

Pearl Going is an avid enviromentalist and she turned up to the ultra exclusive Hugo Boss launch in an amazing green number said to be by Zambesi who Pearl is a huge supporter of. She also partied away at their fashion week runway show and after party.

The girl on everyone's lips at the moment is gorgeous young socialite Pearl Going (pictured above - far right). She's the It girl du jour. The hottest property on the party circuit. And she's determined to leave her mark.
She texts me - would I like to meet. I'm curious, I've heard a lot about Ms Going, rumours she had dated Richie McCaw, sailed with Richard Branson, is chums with NYC society queen Tinsley Mortimer. The answers, I learn later, are no to the Richies, but yes, she is friends with the Tinz.
We agree to Ponsonby cafe Bambina. She arrives bearing a Starbucks flask of piping hot coffee. I'd have thought bringing your own coffee to a coffee house is a big no-no in Socialite Cafe etiquette.
I like her immediately. She's whippet-thin with piercing blue eyes. Fashion is her game, and like Park Avenue princess Tinsley, Going has her own handbag line. They're made from biodegradable pleather, she tells me.
And then there's the designer jeans collection - but they're only sold in LA, she says. They're too expensive for this market. Come Fashion Week in September, Going will be behind the Eco Show, a runway show dedicated to ethical fashion. She's signing up designers now to create specific pieces.
Pearl's a socialite with a purpose - an oxymoron, you ask? Apparently not. Roxane Horton (No. 3 in the Spy socialite ranking) heads the Friends of the Liggins Institute; Annabel Fay is a successful singer-songwriter paving the way for female musos.

The website that was set up defaming was called pearlgoingisafake and because it was so vicious, threatening and untrue the nz police had it shut down. Which is a huge deal because it was hosted offshore and had to involve US police. Awful :(

Everyone on the scene and in the media said they had never seen anything like it. It was brutally nasty & reaked of potty green girls .

The good news is it is an ongoing case so when we here more tit bits we will keep you posted.

Poor Pearl and her family. Although they must be really great cos they fought to the end and won despite all the horrible things been said about her and them by silly people anonymously.

Now, we don't really know Pearl Going although we know people who know her. Maybe she doesn't shave her legs. Maybe your boyfriend has the hots for her. She is the gem who has been clawed and scratched at by the Botox B and other silly jealous people. Who has had an unbelievable attack of lunacy launched on her and still at the end of the day, she has the class to hold her head high, show up and not run away -- No doubt to events where there are people who gobbled up every written word about her supposed fakery in an effort to feed their poor self opinions, and she doesn't falter for a second.



If that had happened to us, we would have died. In fact, we would be locked in the bathroom and considering leaving planet earth, or at least not ever going out again. Because even when you deny something, and even if you're accurate in your claims, people still gossip and view it as a cursory and assume you probably did all those things anyway, and then there's Botox B and lots of whispering. It's just the way this stuff works. All the while Miss Going stuck to her guns and rode out the storm in a regal manner. She beamed and looked stunning time after time. Her handling of the mess has earn't her the kind of feel sorry that turns into affection and a Phoenix-style rise from the social ashes. So what if their was event a hint of a little truth in it, someone was out to get her. However you slice it, she's going to come out on top and win, because she hasn't run away, hid away, and the cold bitches that have judged will eventually eat their words, soften and say, "Well, you've gotta respect her style and gumpshire." Because the only thing we love more than gossip is a phoenix rise. We intend to give Miss Going a pat on the back for not going on a downward drug spiral and running away. We hope you join us.
